Across the Pond

I'm counting down the days until I leave for Paris, and trying not to freak out too much about my lack of French vocabulary. Mon Dieu! I'm staying at school this summer, working in an office and going to the sewing lab to work on some things.

I've also been trying to gather a small but diverse wardrobe for Paris! Guess what - I bought three pairs of pants. Me! If you look back through my blog, I think the only pants you'll see are the occasional jeans. I am just not a pants girl. But I think I've found a shape I like, so I'm excited to step out of my comfort zone.

Other exciting news I have is that this summer I am interning as a Style Guru with collegefashionista.com! I'll be taking pictures of people around campus and writing about their looks. When I go to Paris I'll be shooting street style there, which is even more exciting!

The rest of this summer is going to be great, and I couldn't be more excited. I can't wait to share it with you! Until next time!

Off To Paris

Well I decided to do a shoot inspired by Audrey Hepburn in Funny Face...

...because I'm going to Paris!!

I'll be studying at a fashion school in Paris for a month this summer, taking intensive design classes and (fingers crossed) helping at Paris Fashion Week! I'll definitely be blogging some Paris street style, probably instead of shooting my own outfits.

If anyone has been to Paris before or has any suggestions about where to go, what to do, and what to wear, please let me know! I'll have a few days to explore, and I want to see the non-touristy parts of Paris.

I'm so excited to learn a lot over there and recharge my blog with some interesting stuff. Don't forget that I'm also on Instagram @littlegoldpocketwatch and I'll be chronicling my adventures on there!

Blue +Tulle

I have been so busy lately I haven't had time to shoot anything! It's also been raining nonstop for like a month. I apologize for that! I've been busy sewing in my apparel production class. I'm about to start making a garment or two for a fashion show - hopefully I can post some pictures of those! This semester is flying by...pretty soon it'll be over. I've got some super exciting plans for summer, which I'm going to wait to announce since they're not finalized yet...(*mysterious*) Have a good week, everyone!

Outtakes: Take 5

Welcome to the occasional post where I purposefully embarrass myself! The outtakes. I tend to goof off a lot when I have my picture taken...and my mom is always ready to capture my painfully fake smiles and dorky poses when I shoot at home. Enjoy, and try to take everything less seriously today! Especially me.

So genuine.

Just adjusting. Don't mind me.

Look at that candid concentration face.

So this is what happens when I'm asked to climb the fence. I take on the persona of a mountain man.

They might not be in the picture, but those geese were SCARY.

Lastly, here's our commentary on the endless number of antler pictures out there in photo shoots. Next to a rustic door? How could I resist?

Wishful Thinking

I apologize for the quality of some of these pictures - the light was being fussy and I didn't have time to find a better spot! It's been warming up a little these last few days, so I guess my wishful thinking inspired me to wear shorts. My sweater and shorts are from Forever 21, my bag is Jessica Simpson, and my boots are thrifted!

As far as school goes, I'm about to start making a dress in apparel construction - I'm excited because we got to tweak the pattern and be more creative with our fabric choices. I plan on wearing it after it's done (and the weather warms up)!

Have a great Wednesday everybody, and if I don't post again by then, happy Valentine's Day!

TARDIS Tuesday

My friend Kezzie makes wonderful TARDIS Tuesday posts where she wears an outfit inspired by the Doctor or a companion, and I wanted to join in!
Since my style definitely matches up best with Clara (though she's not my favorite companion), I channeled her fashion sense when my boyfriend and I went out adventuring in Nashville.
I tried to have some time travel element in the pictures (like Kezzie always does so cutely in her posts), so here we see Clara going back in time and meeting a dragon (obviously a misplaced alien or a robot mistaken for the mythical creature, duh) and then traveling to see the Greek Parthenon!

Again, thanks to Lan for taking my pictures :) My dress is Audrey Co, my scarf of from Nordstrom, and my boots are thrifted. I hope everyone has a great week!

Hello There, Nashville

I went to Nashville over the long weekend to see my boyfriend! He was sweet enough to shoot these for me. I think he did a pretty good job, right?

We did a lot of exploring, went into antique stores and shops all over the place, and ate at The Smiling Elephant, Burger Up, and Jeni's. I think it's cool that places that, say, sew custom jeans in a building that used to be a gas station, can thrive there. Another thing I like is that people in Nashville are just really nice. I think they're all just expressing themselves the way they want so there isn't so much pressure to judge or be mean! (On another note, it was so refreshing to see people dressed in real, interesting clothes. Very different from a college town!)

The last picture is from outside a restaurant called The Flipside - I just enjoyed what everyone wrote! I think "go to Australia and find a lover" and "own goats and a farm" are my favorites.

My sweatshirt is from Old Navy ($10) and my skirt (hello, last post) and bag are from Forever 21. Have a great day, everyone!
