Bubblegum Girl

I'm a tad bit excited about these photos :) Victoria from Little Bird Blue asked me to send in a picture of my favorite thrift find for a feature she's doing.
I knitted a bow!! See it? I'm very proud of my little pink and yellow creation. I was just in a creative mood, so I knitted a square, tied yellow string around it, and attached a bobby pin to the back. Viola!

Well, here it is! My favorite thrift find. There's a consignment shop in town that I love. When I first spotted this dress there is was $50, which was just too much for me to spend on a used dress. Sigh...
But THEN, when I came back again a while later, there it was, sitting on the sale rack for $11! They had forgotten to mark down the price on the tag, so it still said $50. But I knew that it was on sale...I think the dress knew that it was meant for me :)

There's a really cool craft center near my house - it's got all kinds of work by local artists for sale. And that's where these pictures were taken.
It was fun to get all girl-ified with pink lipstick and such. Oh and might I add that these heels, if I remember correctly, were about $17. Oh yeah. It takes me like 10 minutes to get them on because they're a half size too small... but that's ok. It's worth it :)

I hung out with my friend Kylan today and we went to an antique store (LOVE! I am going back there when I get some money...) and then to an Asian food store. We got all kinds of adorable Asian candy and some kimchi ramen. It was awesome.
I hope all of you are enjoying summer! Have a wonderful weekend.
P.S. Thanks to Maria for my cool new blog design!

I could say it over and over again but you are seriously the cutest... You probably don't even believe me at this point because I say it so much, but it's honestly true! Everything about you just radiates happiness and internal and external beauty. You are wonderful, Miranda!

P.S. And I know I've asked you this before, but what kind of camera do you use? I'm so awfully forgetful and have completely forgotten!

Oh, and I was going to ask the same question as Lauren again about the camera you use. If I remember correctly it's a Nikon dslr...? What model?

These photos are so lovely! They really made me smile!
I understand that $50 is too much for a second hand dress. I feel the same unless it's super gorgeous and definitely from the 40's/50's...but what a great bargain! And you look wonderful!

Lauren and Maria - My mom uses a professional Nikon D700. She wanted me to mention that it's not all about the camera - lighting and composition really matter too. And as she says, "It's not the wand, it's the wizard". So there's your photography lesson for today...:)

nice job on the bow!! have you seen this etsy shop? (http://www.etsy.com/shop/nappington) it's actually a friend of a friend who owns the shop, but that's what your bow reminds me of! knitted bows must be one of the best ideas ever. i'm jealous you know how to make one yourself!

anyway, the dress is lovely on you! and shoes being a half size too small is the absolute worst. big enough to get on your feet and trick you into thinking they won't hurt... haha
